What is \u201cfiltration\u201d?<\/h2>\n

\n Filtration is the process of passing a liquid or gas containing solid particles through a filter medium
\n to separate and remove foreign matter. In other words, \u201cstraining out\u201d unwanted materials.\n<\/p>\n

\n Methods of filtration include simply relying on gravity, applying pressure, or using centrifugal force.
\n Although \u201cremoving foreign matter\u201d might sound complicated, filtration is commonly found in our daily lives.\n<\/p>\n

\n Examples of everyday filtration:
\n \u2022 Coffee filter: removing coffee grounds
\n \u2022 Water purifier: removing impurities from water
\n \u2022 Oil pot: removing residue from frying oil
\n \u2022 Air purifier: removing pollen and other particles from the air\n<\/p>\n

Terminology Related to Filtration<\/h2>\n

Filter Medium (Filter Media)<\/h3>\n

Items such as filter paper, filters, or membranes. There are various types and materials depending on the purpose.<\/p>\n

Filter Aid<\/h3>\n

A substance used to prevent clogging of the filter medium and make filtration easier (e.g., food-grade diatomaceous earth).<\/p>\n

Cake<\/h3>\n

The material that remains (accumulates) on the filter medium after filtration, also referred to as \u201cresidues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Filtrate<\/h3>\n

The liquid or gas obtained after passing through the filter medium.<\/p>\n

Examples of Filtration Tank Proposals<\/h2>\n

Example 1: Reducing Filtration Time<\/h3>\n

\n We proposed a customized version of the [QR-100M] Vacuum Filtration Vessel<\/a>.
\n To shorten the filtration time, we increased the filtration area to 3.5 times that of the standard specification.
\n We also enlarged the hopper capacity to allow for bulk loading of materials.\n<\/p>\n

Example 2: Separating Solvents and Powder<\/h3>\n

We proposed a filtration tank to wash powdered materials with solvent.<\/p>\n

\n To improve work efficiency, we kept the total height of the tank at 1800 mm.
\n After mixing the powder and solvent in the upper tank, the mixture is vacuum-filtered into the lower tank,
\n allowing separate collection of powder and solvent.\n<\/p>\n

Example 3: Scaling Up Filtration Equipment<\/h3>\n

\n When scaling up from a glass filtration device, we proposed a custom stainless steel filtration unit.\n<\/p>\n

\n The filter section is designed so that the same filter paper previously used can still be utilized.
\n The filtrate is collected into a plastic bottle placed inside the tank, which can accommodate multiple
\n bottle sizes (0.25 L, 0.5 L, 1 L, 2 L) owned by the customer.\n<\/p>\n

Example 4: Removing Foreign Matter with a Mesh Basket<\/h3>\n

\n We proposed a stainless steel basket that can be set on the tank\u2019s rim and used like a tea strainer.\n<\/p>\n

\n With an approximately 1mm mesh size, it can remove fine particles.
\n We can manufacture the basket in a size tailored to your tank, or provide a set that includes both
\n the basket and the tank.\n<\/p>\n
